Glen Urquhart School offers competitive salaries and benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, 403(b) retirement, tuition remission, and professional development funding, including the Tadler Grant program that helps sustain the excellence of the GUS faculty. The GUS professional culture is maintained through ongoing supervision and evaluation and a professional development program which encourages faculty to grow personally and professionally through mentoring of new hires, visits to colleagues’ classrooms, workshops, conferences, training, and on-site lectures. A number of our faculty regularly publish articles and present at conferences around the country including the NAIS Conference and People of Color Conference.  73% of teachers hold masters degrees.

Founded in 1977, Glen Urquhart School (GUS) is a Pre-K to grade eight independent day school serving approximately 200 students, located in Beverly Farms, Massachusetts. Situated on a beautiful, 23-acre campus, the school offers a challenging academic program featuring a theme and place-based, experiential curriculum; extensive community service; and a record of outstanding student achievement and secondary school placement. The school enjoys strong partnerships with families and the broader community and a reputation for excellence on the North Shore. We actively seek a highly engaged, diverse corps of excellent teachers and staff members to support these goals. With students from around the region, our community is a welcoming and exciting one.

Great teachers and staff are the cornerstone of a great school. Their work supports the education of each child. For more than forty years, GUS classrooms have been filled with teachers who are committed to building intellectual skills, instilling strong values, and inspiring a love for learning.  Glen Urquhart School seeks candidates who will reflect and support the racial, cultural, and gender diversity of our school community.

Glen Urquhart School teachers are given the freedom to do what they do best—teach. Working with colleagues, teachers devise lessons they believe are best conducive to learning. Innovation and creativity are encouraged in the classroom, and small classes (typically 15-18 students) allow teachers to know their students.

Glen Urquhart School is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, age, religion, national origin, ancestry, sexual orientation, gender identity, pregnancy, disability, mental illness, military status, genetics or sex or any other classification protected under applicable law.
