Faculty Positions

Middle School Science Teacher (Full Time), beginning August 27, 2018
Glen Urquhart School seeks a flexible individual who loves teaching and understands how to engage middle school children in the appreciation of scientific concepts and skills. Building on GUS’s existing theme and place-based academic program, this teacher will collaborate with colleagues and teach courses in grades six through eight.  We seek a candidate with a strong science background, also potentially willing to teach a math course from time to time. This position is full time with benefits.

School Counselor (Part Time),  beginning August 27, 2018
Glen Urquhart School seeks a dynamic and flexible individual who loves counseling children and supporting their social-emotional growth. Supporting GUS’s theme and place-based academic program, the counselor will collaborate with colleagues and work with students in grades pre-K to 8, including teaching Life Skills classes in grades 6-8. This position is part time, 32 hours a week, and is eligible for benefits.

Learning Specialist (Part Time), beginning August 27, 2018
Glen Urquhart School seeks a Learning Specialist. The position will focus on students in grades 6 to 8 and be a resource K-8. This individual should be well versed in working with middle school students with varied learning styles. This teacher is responsible for providing individual and small group support to students with learning differences. We are especially excited about candidates who can support mathematics as well as language arts needs.

Pre-K Assistant Teachers (Part Time), beginning August 27, 2018
Glen Urquhart School seeks dynamic and flexible individuals who love teaching and understand how to joyfully engage early learners as they begin school. Building on GUS’s existing theme and place-based academic program, these teachers will collaborate with colleagues and teach three and four year olds in our new Pre-K program. There are two part-time positions, 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

GAIN@GUS Math Teacher, June 25 to 27, 2018
Glen Urquhart School seeks a math teacher to staff its GAIN@GUS program. Since 2010, GAIN has provided access to academic and recreational summer enrichment at no cost to families for 30 underserved fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh grade students in the cities of Beverly, Lynn, and surrounding North Shore communities. GAIN extends academic skills in math and language arts through classroom and outdoor experiences and off-campus trips. The position is 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. from June 25 to July 27.
