Alumni Profiles
Ezra Schildkraut graduated from GUS 9th grade in 1990 (yes there used to be a 9th grade!). Currently, Ezra is the Associate Director of Process Development at New England Biolabs in Ipswich, MA.
Annie Quigley graduated from GUS in 2006. From GUS, she went on to The Governor’s Academy, and graduated from New York University with a B.S. in Media, Culture, and Communication with a minor in Creative Writing. She currently resides just outside of Portland, ME, and is the Editor-in-Chief of Remodelista.
Gillian Garvey attended GUS from sixth through eighth grade. Currently, she works as the Development Associate of Operations and Events at Heading Home, a nonprofit working to end homelessness in Greater Boston and Lawrence.
Dr. Norwood completed his pediatric residency at Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia, and served over 20 years as a U.S. Navy Physician taking care of military children while serving in various leadership roles. He served 10 years of his military career overseas, providing full-scope outpatient and inpatient pediatric care in Naples, Italy, and in both Yokosuka and Okinawa, Japan. After military retirement, he began his civilian career with Sentara Healthcare in Virginia Beach, VA, where he currently resides.
Katie attended GUS for seventh and eighth grade, graduating in 2008. After GUS, she went to Governor’s Academy, then on to Dartmouth College, where she graduated in 2016. She received her J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2021 and is currently pursuing her MFA in creative writing from New York University.
Joanie attended GUS for Kindergarten through eighth grade, graduating in 2004. She now works at Twill, a digital mental health company, and lives in Stow, MA with her husband, two cats, and puppy.
We are pleased and honored to share that The Carol Stewart Memorial Fund has been formally established at Glen Urquhart School. This fund, lovingly and thoughtfully supported by her family and friends, will make small, annual gifts to help offset the costs of GUS preschool for the children of our faculty and staff.
Alumni speakers are a treasured and impactful annual tradition at GUS graduation. Alumni speakers are always selected from the class that was graduating themselves as eighth graders when the current eighth grade class was in Kindergarten. This year’s alumni speakers were Cameron Kirwin ’15 and Justin McNiff ’15.
With a sincere desire to cultivate an even stronger sense of belonging within our alumni community, the school is working to formally launch its first-ever Alumni Council.
Katherine attended GUS for sixtht through eighth grade, graduating in 2004. After GUS, she went on to The Governor’s Academy, and on to Bentley University, where she graduated in 2012.
Isobel Glass attended GUS for grades four through eight. After GUS, she attended Phillips Andover Academy, where she graduated in 2021. Currently, she is a sophomore at the University of Pennsylvania.
Crystal DaCruz attended GUS for 4th through 8th grade, graduating in 1998. She currently lives in Providence, RI, with her son Shane and daughter Simone, and recently founded her own startup - Boxed in Black.
Steph Krim attended GUS from kindergarten through 8th grade, graduating in 2004. She now lives in Chicago, where she lives with her partner, 1-year-old son, and two dogs.
After graduating in 1989 as a member of one of the last 9th grade classes at GUS, Ed Akerely went on to graduate from Massachusetts Maritime Academy and now serves as a Lieutenant Commander in the US Coast Guard Reserve, a post he’s now held for 17 years!
In terms of sustainable practices, this year at GUS we are not reinventing the wheel; we are merely refining our current practices, reevaluating our curriculum, and working to create some achievable goals for the future.

Kelsey Quigley attended GUS for seventh and eighth grade. Currently, she lives outside Providence, RI, and works as a Research Fellow at Boston Children’s Hospital and as a lecturer in the Harvard College Department of Psychology.
Balancing Act, a bronze and aluminum sculpture by Josie Campbell Dellenbaugh, has been gifted to GUS by an anonymous donor.
Meredith Molloy attended GUS for Kindergarten through Grade 8. Currently, she lives on the North Shore and works as a Senior Manager for Toast, Inc., and recently welcomed a baby girl!
Grace Romanelli graduated from GUS in 2019 and is currently a junior at Pingree School in Hamilton, MA.
Adam Seigal ’00 came to GUS in second grade and learned some valuable lessons that remain with him today as Manager of Jewish Family Services in Portland, ME.
Eva Bramesco attended GUS for grades 6-8. She now lives outside Washington, DC, and works at George Mason University.
Each year, graduation speakers are GUS alumni who have recently graduated from college - who were graduating eighth grade themselves when the current graduating class was finishing up kindergarten. The Graduation 2021 speakers were Jack Norton ’13 and Sarah McGrath ’13.

After working at Berwick Academy as a middle school math and science teacher for 2 years, Alex Levin joined the GUS team this year as upper school science teacher. We’re so excited to have him back on campus - read a recent Q+A about his new role here at GUS.
Twenty-two young people in Lima, Peru are singing and dancing their hearts out in a fast-paced production of the Broadway musical, Wicked, thanks in part to the experiences their director had on the stage at GUS.
The annual sixth grade trip to William Lawrence Camp was designed to build community and relationships. For Alex Rosenthal and Joey Bertagna, GUS ‘12, the goal was accomplished but not exactly as planned. As brand new Glen Urquhart students, the two boys found the idea of “going off to a camp for an overnight on the second day of school kind of terrifying,” says Bertagna. To deal with the anxiety, he and Rosenthal bonded with each other and three other new students, Liam Prior, Sam Corbett, and Evan DaCosta.
