GUS will conduct on-campus assessments for GUS applicants who are in grades 1-8 during the week of Monday, January 4 through Friday, January 8, 2021, while the GUS community is still on winter break.
Families of kindergarten applicants will receive information regarding the way in which GUS will be handling their assessments.
We will be taking all precautionary measures related to COVID-19, including, but not limited to, mask-wearing at all times, cleaning and disinfecting the rooms before and after each assessment session. As well, we are limiting the number of students who will be assessed at each session to follow social distancing guidelines.
If you would like to sign your child up for an assessment slot, please email Holly Shepherd (hshepherd@gus.org). She will let you know which assessment slots are available. Once you sign up for one of the assessment slots, you will receive an email from us with more information, including where to park on campus and what to expect.
Parents of 1st & 2nd Graders: The assessment for these students will take approximately one hour to complete. We will be assessing one student during each session.
Parents of students in grades 3-8: For applicants in grades 3-8, we will be assessing 2-3 students during each of these blocks. This assessment will take approximately 1 ½ hours to complete.
Please know that, if you are unable to schedule your child to be assessed during this upcoming week, we can, on a limited basis, schedule assessments once GUS is back in session. Please let us know if this is an option you would like to consider. For families who live well outside the North Shore area, please contact us and we can work with you to arrange your child's assessment.
If you have any questions, please contact either Dawn Curtis (dcurtis@gus.org) or Holly Shepherd (hshepherd@gus.org).
