Extended Day Options

Academic excellence must go well beyond academics.

Extended day options are available to all Glen Urquhart School students. Before School Care begins at 7:30 a.m., meets in Braemar, and is free of charge. After School Care is offered for grades K–5 from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m., where they can spend more time engaging with their school friends and get to know children in other classes. After school care is unstructured, giving children freedom to relax with their friends under the supervision of a professional teacher. Children can play on the playground structures and the basketball and four square courts, they can start a pick-up football or soccer game, or engage in imaginative play on the campus grounds. Indoors, they play board games, draw, do crafts, read, or do their homework. Learn more about Before and After School Care options.

Students at GUS and community members can also enroll in GUS+ Enrichment classes which are offered throughout the school year. The offerings rotate, based on interest, but can include: ballet, coding, movie making, chess, art workshops, sports, yoga and meditation, fencing, dance, and SSAT preparation. Learn more about the April to May GUS+ III session.

Vacation break programs are offered to GUS families and community members in December, prior to the GUS Winter Vacation, in February and April, and during the first week of the GUS Spring Vacation in March. Learn more about our vacation break programs.
