Building Community: Head of School Letter

We did it! When GUS first began to plan for the playground build last April, 2018, one trustee remarked, “Wow, that’s going to take a lot of hands.” We’re a community of only about 130 families. As a small school, undertaking a community build was an act of hope, faith, and trust. But so is educating children.

Chickens. Pigs. Cows. Goats. Kids. Working seamlessly together.

The 6th grade students recently journeyed to East Hill Farm in Troy, New Hampshire. All year long, the kids have explored the theme of "The People" and how groups of citizens work together. Our trip to the farm provided the perfect chance to learn more about teamwork, and how farmers around the world collectively work to provide nourishment for us all.

I trust you recharged and rested over the break. The faculty and I look forward to a great spring with your children.

February Head of School Letter: Feeling the Love

There is so much to love about Glen Urquhart School… The joy of Pre-K students coming in from exploring outside. Upper schoolers whooping it up as they discover a great patch of sliding ice at recess. Guests taking a spin on the student-built rink at Winterfest or breaking out of an escape room with new friends. A basketball game well played.
