All the Joy at GUS: February Tartan

Dear GUS Community,

This past month, we have been focusing on all the joy at GUS, which has not been hard to do! Every day at GUS, there are countless moments that warm our hearts and feed our souls. From watching students play at recess to the energy that filled the upper school at Winterfest and the heartfulness affirmation activities led by the 2nd and 4th grade classes, joy has been palpable all over campus. We have also felt the joy on social media, with families, past and present, sharing their #joyatGUS moments. Add to all of that Valentine’s Day love from the Parents Association and these last few weeks have been truly special. While we eagerly await spring break, there is certainly joy to be had during our traditional Boar Cup festivities which will take place next week. Is there ever a happier time on campus than as the upper school grades compete? This event is truly a highlight of the upper school experience.

In this Tartan, you will certainly feel the joy in the work, as teachers share not only why they love teaching, but highlight their passion for the work in our exploration of the land in science and in preparing students for the future. Of course, we also love hearing from our alums and are so proud of Annie Quigley and her pursuit of her passions. It’s always such a joy to hear how GUS has inspired and motivated our graduates. Coming up on campus, you can also hear about joys and challenges of the middle school experience specifically from parents who have lived to tell the tale. Join us on Friday, March 1 to hear all about the meaningful GUS journey.

As always, there is lots going on at GUS. We hope you feel love and joy catching up on all that is happening. Don’t hesitate to share your #joyatGUS not only online, but also by contributing to the GUS Fund. We are so excited about the current GUS Fund Challenge (that ends tomorrow!) - and hope you’ll be a part of it!

Sincerely,
