March Message from the Head of School
Scenes from the 2026 Boar Cup.
Dear GUS Friends and Family,
In the days leading up to Spring Break, campus was full of energy—Boar Cup bringing us together in all the best ways, and students engaged in experiences from trips to Harrison’s Comics to karate. It was a joyful, spirited close to the stretch.
And then came the pause.
I hope the break offered moments of rest and quiet. There is something important in that rhythm, in stepping away, in finding space, and in returning renewed.
Now, as we come back together, there is a gentle shift in the air. The snow has mostly melted, the days are stretching a bit longer, and small signs of spring are beginning to emerge. This month, in many ways, invites a quieter pace — a chance to settle back in, to notice what is taking shape, and to begin again with intention.
And even within this quieter moment, there is a sense, just beneath the surface, that meaningful things are beginning to take root here at GUS. We look forward to sharing more in the coming weeks.
As we move forward, there is no need to do everything at once. Like the early signs of spring, growth happens in small, meaningful ways — often quietly, often over time.
That quiet won’t last for long. Spring at GUS has a way of gathering momentum in all the best ways. Overnight trips for students in grades 4–8, including our eighth graders’ service trip to Puerto Rico, are on the horizon. Capstone projects deepen, May Day approaches, and before we know it, we will be celebrating our graduates and all they have accomplished.
We hope you will join us this weekend at GUS Rocks The Cut — a chance to come together, celebrate, and enjoy a fun night out as a community as we step into all that lies ahead.
Thank you, as always, for your partnership. It is a joy to do this work together.
