Maple Sugaring Fun

In this interdisciplinary program, students will learn all about the process of maple sugaring, tap maple trees on campus, and make their own maple syrup. Each week students will explore and learn about a different topic. Some of the topics included are: the steps to collect sap, how to make syrup, and the layers of a tree trunk. Students will have a chance to try a variety of recipes that incorporate maple syrup as an ingredient. Weekly projects will be completed in individual science journals and be sent home at the end of the session.

Each week, we will undertake a different creative project, and the final class will be devoted to putting together a journal of our work and exhibiting our images.
