Events at GUS

At Glen Urquhart School we welcome both current families and community members to join us for events we believe reflect our school values, support our curriculum, and bring new insight to attendees. Please join us for the following events:

North Shore Secondary School Fair - Tuesday, September 25, 6:00 to 8:30 p.m.

On September 25, Glen Urquhart School will host the annual Secondary School Fair on behalf of the North Shore Independent Schools. We look forward to welcoming your family to GUS! The Secondary School Fair typically welcomes 300+ families from 30+ communities, with 90+ secondary schools in attendance. This event is an important outreach to families in seventh and eighth grades who are investigating their secondary school possibilities. Attendance is free and there is no pre-registration necessary. Learn more and see the participating schools.

Community Playground Build - Wednesday through Sunday, October 24 to 28

Encouraged by a professional playground designer at a special "design day," every GUS student had the chance to share their dreams and drawings for a new structure. Now we are actively inviting volunteers who can swing a hammer or wield a wrench to join us Wednesday, October 24 through Sunday, October 28 to help build! We are also looking for tools to borrow, and donations of building materials and equipment. Shifts are available in four-hour time slots. Learn more about the project and sign up to join us.

Don't own a tool belt but still want to help? We need "day-of" volunteers to organize materials, pass out lunch, and cheer on the team! This is also a great opportunity for your organization or older child's school to volunteer!
