September Message from HOS

We have had a wonderful start to this new school year!

Long summer days and adventures have given way to new routines, sharpened pencils, and the joy of being back together on campus. A new school year always brings a feeling of possibility — fresh starts, new friendships, and the excitement of all that lies ahead.

This fall, there is even more to celebrate. Our campus has seen some wonderful changes to make our students’ experiences richer and even more joyful. As you walked through the grounds and visited classrooms on Back to School night, we hope you also felt a renewed sense of energy and pride in our special school. Most importantly, whether attending our Wild Boar Classic golf tournament, an All-School Meeting, or anytime you are on campus, we hope you feel the special GUS spirit that can only be nurtured in a close-knit community that deeply cares for each child and each family. How lucky we all feel to be members of such a special school community!

A new school year also means new faces in the GUS community: students, families, and teachers who bring fresh perspectives, energy, and enthusiasm. Their presence, combined with the wisdom and traditions of our returning community, makes for an inspiring mix — one that keeps GUS both timeless and ever-evolving. We are so happy to welcome you all!

As I look around at our students and teachers, I can’t help but feel grateful. Grateful for the trust you place in us, grateful for the dedication of our faculty and staff, and grateful for the children who bring this campus to life each and every day. We are lucky to share in this extraordinary community, and I hope you feel the same pride I do in all that makes Glen Urquhart School such a remarkable place.

Here’s to a year filled with learning, laughter, and growth. I have no doubt that this will be a wonderful year at GUS, and I look forward to seeing all that we will accomplish together.

With gratitude and excitement,
