What GUS Can Be.

A community campaign. Building for their future.

For nearly fifty years, Glen Urquhart School has heroed children, meeting them where they are and anticipating what they will need next in the world that they inherit. Today, we honor that commitment to our child-centered philosophy and ask what can GUS be for the next generation and how can we meet them there in a meaningful way? (or: and how can we prepare them for the world they inherit? of people, place, and program In an everchanging world, there are everchanging needs)

GUS has rarely stood still. except in freeze tag.

Glen Urquhart School was founded in 1977 by parents who wanted something deliberately different. Who believed education could be joyful, rigorous, and deeply human. Community-led and student-centered. Since then, we’ve evolved alongside our students, our educators, and our world. Finding meaning, purpose, understanding, and learning in each new phase. While maintaining a strong sense of what it means to learn and teach in an everchanging world.

As we look ahead to the next fifty years, we’re imagining What GUS Can Be – a community campaign to increase invest in the people, place, and program that define this school and make its mission possible. (define this school and make it a uniquely special place)

fifty never looked this good

The new heart of our campus is the first visible step to What GUS Can Be. A place where new families + visitors will discover GUS for the first time. And where students will learn, grow, and explore in two multidisciplinary classrooms. A true reflection of our commitment to preserving what makes GUS special while thoughtfully evolving to meet the needs of the future.

GUS Wasn’t built in a day

But for nearly fifty years, generations of families, teachers, alumni, friends, and neighbors have helped shape what GUS is today. And now, we’re asking our community to help shape What GUS Can Be next.
