Teddy Bear Day Fundraiser for Nevis

The Kindergarten class at GUS has a long-standing relationship with the Jocelyn Liburd School (formerly Gingerland Primary School) in Nevis, West Indies. Each year the kindergartners learn about life in Nevis by exploring videos, photos, drawings, writing and news about life on the island, and as their service project, they host Teddy Bear Day to raise funds for the school in Nevis.

On Teddy Bear Day, Thursday, February 20, each member of the GUS community is encouraged to bring in a (lap sized) stuffed animal for the day. A suggested donation of five dollars will help purchase much-needed supplies for the school in Nevis (don’t worry, the stuffed animal goes home at the end of the day!).

Please contact Kindergarten teachers Sandra Thoms or Amy Billings with any questions.
