Feeling the Love at GUS

Many people dislike Valentine’s day. Oftentimes dismissed as a Hallmark holiday, I see value in taking a day to reflect on who and what you love. For me, Valentine’s Day was extra special this year. My day began at breakfast with former trustee members from as far back as the early 80’s. It was a wonderful testament to the power of the GUS experience and to the value of connection around shared experiences.

Annually, 8th Grade Arts Night showcases an impressive collection of both visual and performance art by our eighth grade class. In addition to a gallery-style art exhibit and presentations featuring their White Shirt Projects, eighth-graders also perform a series of modern dance pieces inspired by the school theme, be the change.

January is here and, for eighth graders at Glen Urquhart School, that means the coming of 8th Grade Arts Night, the annual, and much anticipated, dance performance and art exhibit. This night represents the culmination of work they began in September, and a celebration of one of the most celebrated GUS traditions - the White Shirt Project.
